"I" awoke. In an old mansion in the snowbound mountains. I'd been carried in with a head wound, they said. Surrounded by books and paintings, the middle-aged mistress of the mansion who adores camellias, and the four maids who smile sadly, all seem to know everything. "I" don't understand. I can't remember, anything at all. "You have brought time into this mansion where there is no time." As if guided by the tale of spiriting-away recounted by candlelight, the gears began to turn. Midnight, the stroke of zero. The great clock, unmoving for decades, tolls thirteen chimes. When the dark shadow that has crawled up from the bottom of the inner well begins to prowl, the maids' sobs leaking through the darkness are ecstasy... or else...
Our take
A maid hentai anime set in an old mountain mansion sealed in by snow, released in 2004 by Discovery with a Mink production credit printed on the sleeve.
The look belongs to mid-2000s cel-style animation: candle-orange interiors dropped against near-black shadows, corridors and pillars given real depth, and maids unified by white bonnets and long skirts, separated only by green, chestnut and blonde hair. The front illustration is unusually calm, while the back is laid out like an old book in vertical type.
Toki Neiro Ichi no Koku opens the series. The samples show how dark the palette really runs.
