Story
A secret competition where women compete in beauty and lewdness with techniques of difficulty far surpassing rhythmic gymnastics. It's apparently called 'Dark Rhythmic Gymnastics'... Fubuki, a younger brother searching for his missing stepsister Miku Hanooka, reunites with Miku at the house of Miku's classmate Tomomi. According to Tomomi, Miku has been caught in the dark part of dark rhythmic gymnastics. And so Fubuki resolves to become a coach of dark rhythmic gymnastics in order to rescue Miku. Fubuki approaches Koyuki Fujimiya, whom Tomomi has selected as a target as a reinforced athlete for dark rhythmic gymnastics. Without knowing the fate that awaits afterward...
Our take
A rhythmic gymnastics OVA adapted from a PC game, as the jacket announces in large type. The front shows a gymnasium lit through arched windows, with a character in a red and white leotard arched back mid-routine, hoop and ribbon in hand.
The art is mid-2000s cel work: thick even outlines, flat three-tone skin, and watercolor texture on the wooden floor and window frames, a softness digital coloring rarely keeps. The back cover grids twelve stills, most inside that same hall.
The subtitle etude.1 marks it as an opening chapter, released by Discovery. For cel-era hentai anime rather than recent digital work, the samples show the difference.
