Story
Seikyo Academy, an utterly ordinary school. Jun Igarashi, who attends here, was, like a perfectly ordinary student, agonizing over the troubles of love. However, the object of that love is not typical: it's Keiko Nagumo-sensei, old enough to be his parent. There's no rival in love, but the ring glinting on her left ring finger blocks his feelings. Then one day, a conversation with his classmate Sai, who became his seatmate in a class reshuffle, pushes Jun forward. Amazingly, Sai is the daughter of Keiko-sensei whom Jun pines for, and her family is a single-mother household. Keiko-sensei is a widow... Learning this secret, Jun immediately rushes off to confess to Keiko-sensei... And what Jun saw there was...
Our take
A milf-led entry in the long-running Vanilla Series, adapted from the Guilty+ game. The cover line, asking to be made the happiest older woman in the world, sets the distance between the characters before anything else does.
The art carries the heavy shading of mid-2000s OVA work: broad gloss on black hair, a red track jacket that anchors the frame, and a ring on the left hand drawn into the cover art. Samples move between a tatami room, a neon-lit night interior and a school corridor, and emotion is carried by lowered eyes and the line of the mouth.
