Story

Twenty-year-old Aoyagi Satsuki starts working as a rookie nurse at Ishikawa General Hospital. Ota Naho, hired at the same time, has viewed Satsuki as a rival ever since their nursing-school days. Naho is the type who, being slow at her work, competes with resourcefulness and bluffing. Satsuki, on the other hand, is diligent but often loses out by messing up at crucial moments. The hospital director Ishikawa Yutaka is in an affair with the head nurse Kato Yuriko. When he grins, saying "this year's new nurses are quite cute," Yuriko scolds him. The director's only son and heir, Hideyuki, is a skilled surgeon. Handsome and single, he is the object of admiration of every woman in the hospital. An acquaintance since their student days, obstetrician-gynecologist Nakamura Midori, is rumored to eventually marry him, but they don't seem to actually be engaged. Naturally Satsuki, too, went dreamy the moment she first met him, but thinking there was no way they'd ever match, she gives up. However, through a chance turn of events, Hideyuki begins to take an interest in Satsuki...
