Masahiko Mitarai, who lost his mother to death in early childhood, moved to America with his father at age four, returned to Japan three years ago, and enrolled in school. The existence of an 'onee-san' (older girl) who was kind to him in his childhood is carved deep into his heart as a special impression, and he harbors a wish to one day be united with her... Her face in his memories is hazy. All he remembers is that when he fell down, the girl who reached out her hand to him was wearing a straw hat... Just who is that 'onee-san'? There are several candidates. Kyoko and Asuka, the sisters living nearby who came to a household of two men, him and his father, to help with cleaning and such. Mitsuko Kusamine, the wife at the coffee shop where he's worked part-time since way back. And Sha Fon-Lee (Rei Natsukaze), the daughter of his father's acquaintance from their time living in America. Then one day, Rei Natsukaze comes from America and begins staying at his house as a lodger...
