Story
It had been six years since Shuichi Kano met his sister Noel. It was at the funeral of their parents, who had died in a traffic accident. Though called siblings, the two were each their respective parent's child from before, so there was no blood relation. Kano hated his parents and loathed the family his father had made by remarrying. So as soon as he graduated high school, he left home, and after that never once returned. When they take a breather after the funeral, Noel witnesses Kano looking at a single photograph. It was of him as a small child with his real parents. Noel speaks to her brother, 'Big brother, now it's just the two of us. From now on let's get along and live together...' and brings out a photo of herself and her brother together. But Kano, saying 'Just the two of us, huh... In other words, you're mine,' presses down on Noel. As if possessed by something, in front of the altar, Kano tears open her mourning clothes and takes Noel...
Our take
Released in 2003 under the Vanilla Series banner, this is the first half of a two part school set hentai anime, and it reads as a document of cel era production.
Outlines are thick, shading falls in flat blocks rather than gradients, and characters are told apart by hair alone: a pale violet length against a blue tinted short cut. Backgrounds push to deep crimson and black so interiors never go muddy. The samples stay indoors, spending their best frames on eye highlights and on tears catching the light.
