Story

Adolfo's talent for painting has been recognized, and he serves as an apprentice church painter. He is an extremely earnest young man, and even his master Pineri favored him over the unserious Fernando. However, Adolfo's dream for the future was not to be a painter but to devote his whole life to God. Normally those of low birth cannot enter the priesthood, but thanks to his everyday sincere attitude being recognized, Adolfo is invited by Fernando on a trip out of town to sketch. 'Your painting, how beautiful it is. I love it,' said the one who called out to him upon seeing Adolfo's painting in the village they traveled to—a beautiful village girl named Michaela. Though Adolfo should have wished for nothing but to serve God, her appearance stirs his heart.
