Story

It was the commemorative cruise for the 200th voyage of the 'Northern Light,' on which Fujigasaki Miho's father returned as captain. Invited by her best friend Moribe Jun, Miho decides to join together as a short-term part-timer. Otoha Saki (a student) plays violin at the restaurant. The idol Kurusu Nonoka holds a handshake event on the event stage on the main deck. Fujigasaki Miho and Moribe Jun help serve at the casino. The casino dealer Mizunashi Nadia. Spending fun, fulfilling time, Miho was sure this summer break would become a shared memory... but she never dreamed the nightmare that awaited beyond.
Our take
A summer cruise ship nobody can step off, and the first half of a two-part OVA. The jacket credits Murakami Teruaki as director and Guilty as the original work, printed large across the top.
Color does the work. Orange and rose sunset tones fill the cover while an oversized hand reaches in from outside the frame to exaggerate the perspective. A waitress in white apron and headdress leads the group, with pink, purple and black hair marking the others apart. Back panel frames run to backlight and red lamps, outlines sinking into shadow.
