Story
The man's name is Shimon Ryudoji. One day four years ago, a certain incident led him to leave his job as a chemistry teacher, and he had been living quietly and modestly, as if in hiding, in a run-down single-occupancy apartment. Then one day, a document arrives for Shimon. It was an appointment notice, which he had no recollection of, from a prestigious private school renowned even within the city. 'The Full Life Supporter Training Program.' As one servant after another is steadily trained into submission, Shimon Ryudoji's promised reward from Sayaka Ryuzaki, the school's chairperson, finally... The owner of a rare 'famous vessel' of a kind found only one in tens of thousands, even the formidable Shimon Ryudoji is easily made to climax, ending up dancing in the palm of Sayaka Ryuzaki's hand.
Our take
This is the second half of the two part Ryudoji Shimon no Inbo, credited on the package to original creator MInK and director Murakami Teruaki, and built to be watched straight after the first part.
The art is lit almost entirely in warm orange and pink, with backlight melting the outlines into a soft bloom. Hair runs flaxen and chestnut, eye highlights are large, and the reverse cover packs a dense grid of stills that shows how many characters are in play.
Expression work carries the load, marking the passage of time through faces rather than lines. The package also notes a voice only bonus track. Watch the samples for the density of the art.
