Story
Within the strict discipline and precepts of the Ooku, there was one lady-in-waiting, Azami, who behaved as selfishly as she pleased. Furious at her attitude, Kira devised a scheme using the ladies-in-waiting, and got word that Azami had a weakness for pointed things (strap-on dildos). Using this, Azami is trapped by Kira and the women who bore grudges against her, and receives a punishment of screaming torment... 'This is my domain to guard. Etch the laws of the Ooku firmly into your heart.'
Our take
Ooedo Shijuhatte, chapter two, is a period hentai anime set inside the Ooku, the inner palace of Edo castle. The cover places a kimono-clad lady before a painted pine screen, lit by a single paper lantern.
Line work is thin and restrained, and the amber lamplight sets the entire palette, so skin, silk patterns and lacquered hairpins share one warm register. Backgrounds sink toward black, leaving the faces to carry the mood through a raised brow or a held breath.
