Story
[Harem Cult 1: La carte, s'il vous plait.] Shoko Shimura of the photography club secretly filmed her targets and either sold the footage or used it as blackmail material to extort money. When Yuichi Tatsumi calls her out on this, she subjects him to the same fate. As Yuichi stands dazed after being tormented by several women behind the school building, the academy's punisher Hajime Hatorishima appears. Later, heading to a house Hatorishima summoned him to, he finds Shimura bound and unconscious on a sofa. To the awakened Shimura, Hatorishima lays out the facts of her evil deeds and then declares, 'I'm going to violate you.' [Harem Cult 2: batfly] Track-team captain So Akahori has the ability to win the prefectural championship, but on the other hand she repeatedly brought men into the clubroom for organized debauchery. To prove this, Tatsumi recorded everything during a trial club membership. Just as Hatorishima planned, Akahori's evil deeds are exposed one after another.
Our take
A harem with teeth: Harem Cult, adapted from the manga by Uba Yoshiyuki, drops its heroines into a school power struggle where hidden photographs are currency and the cover text promises poison and malice under the name of sex. This first OVA volume is side HAREM.
Queen Bee renders it glossy and heavy-lined, with a thin black choker on each girl marking who answers to whom. The three leads are drawn to distinct types, a composed brunette, a blunt short-haired girl and a blonde in glasses, and the in-motion format animates panels instead of full cuts.
For anyone who wants conspiracy running under a harem. The samples make the ranks plain.
