Story
Suicho 'likes' Reiji; Shiho honestly bares her own feeling of wanting to 'do it' with Reiji. On the way home from school, Suicho tells Reiji she'll be waiting at his house having made dinner. Suicho waited, heart aflutter, in a naked apron, but when she opened the front door, there was Shiho arm-in-arm with Reiji. Unable to hide her shock at the sight of the two, Suicho leaves the house without a word. The next day she wasn't at school. Worried, Reiji sinks into self-loathing over why he couldn't honestly apologize, and searches desperately for Suicho. And, in a spot surrounded by trees where a river flows, atop a large jutting rock, Suicho was stark naked. As the reconciled two reminisce about old times, Suicho suddenly tells him some words. Under the beating rays of the sun, the two entangle fiercely and make a promise as lovers.
Our take
Rural summer romance, the second entry in the Tayutayu series, built on a childhood triangle. The cover line states plainly that acting on the moment is simply how the countryside works.
Background art does the heavy lifting here: towering cumulus, a rocky riverbank, deep green trees and light off the water. Original work is credited to Yamatogawa on the package, and the healthy tanned skin tones and short hair on both girls give the design a summer weight.
The back cover lists three characters, Tokiwa Reiji, Amane Midori and Amane Shiho, so the relationships read at a glance. The samples show how far the backgrounds are worked.
