[The Face of the First Time] Hoping for a summer fling, Tanabe was attending swimming lessons to overcome being unable to swim. But even with just one day left he still couldn't swim, and mentally cornered, he fell from the diving platform. He loses consciousness, and when he comes to, right before his eyes is the face of his instructor Shinozaki, who is giving him mouth-to-mouth resuscitation. Shinozaki sees in Tanabe the image of a boyfriend she once dated, and invites him to make a summer memory poolside. Tanabe, initially put off, does his utmost to answer Shinozaki's feelings in order to make her forget her ex. [The Bewitching Bun Girls] Elena and Tae, after the cake shop they worked at went under, are hired by Juzo, the owner of a Japanese sweets shop. Misconstruing the meaning of gratitude, the two sneak into Juzo's room while he sleeps and press their ample breasts against his face. Juzo's whole life is devoted to the shop passed down through generations, yet he can't escape the temptation of the giant buns, and becomes a captive as he devours the two women's bodies.
Our take
Himitsu no Kichi 2 Yoi is the second OVA drawn from the manga artist Kichiroku, and the packaging states plainly that his draftsmanship is the selling point.
The front cover is an indoor pool. A red-haired swimming instructor, Shinozaki, climbs the ladder out of the water in a navy and pale blue competition swimsuit, droplets catching the light across a palette of blue and white. The second story, set in a traditional sweets shop, answers with amber and warm wood.
Two short episodes, two clearly separated color temperatures on one sleeve. The mood of the reverse tagline, a melting and beguiling night, is worth checking in the sample stills.
