The big brother of the Onami household lives together with his four little sisters: Sora, Akane, Kohaku, and Sumi. Because he suffered severe asthma when he was little, it became a daily routine for him to 'sleep with one of his sisters.' Then one day, his parents, who are also researchers, order him to take part in a demonstration experiment on 'boosting immunity through hugs.' It goes: 'Every day before sleeping, hug your sister with affection for at least 10 seconds.' And unless several conditions are met, there's supposedly no effect. Ignoring the bewildered big brother, the sisters display those conditions in the living room, framed, as the Five Rules of the Onami Family Hug. [1] Hug your sister every day. [2] Hug for at least 10 seconds. [3] Sniff her properly. [4] If you separate, start over. [5] Hug with affection. Today's hug and co-sleeping duty falls to the fourth sister, Sumi. She's the small-animal-type little sister you want to protect. When the big brother gently strokes the cheek of Sumi, who has already fallen asleep, Sumi lets out her habit of licking her big brother's finger. Waking up, Sumi tells him she was dreaming of her big brother, and while hugging him says she wants to be even more useful to him.
