Story
The student council president Reiko is an object of admiration at school. The one she relies on is the vice president, Shintaro. She loves how, contrary to his appearance, he leads her powerfully, and the two are dating. The pair make the rounds inspecting the school festival attractions. Work though it is, Reiko is enjoying their time alone together. When they enter the pitch-dark maze, the last spot on their rounds, Reiko feels a change come over her body and stops in her tracks. A man takes Reiko's arm and guides her deeper into the maze. Reiko falls in love with Shintaro's reliability all over again. Meanwhile, Shintaro was searching for Reiko in the darkness.
Our take
Netorare hentai anime built almost entirely around one location, a pitch black maze at a school festival. The cover line states the approach.
The color plan is the real hook. The jacket is bright, pale pink cardigan and red plaid skirt, and then the episode cuts sink into a single register of indigo and violet. With almost no light source, only the long violet hair and the skin highlights surface, so not knowing who is who in the dark is carried by the palette itself.
Adapted from a Core Magazine manga, animated by Mary Jane. This is the first of two volumes, and the maze sets the story in motion. See the sample stills.
