A teacher and student school romance told entirely from the sweet side, this sixth entry in the Hatsukoi Jikan OVA series keeps its viewpoint fixed on a girl still looking up at the childhood friend who grew into an adult ahead of her.
The art sells it. Classroom scenes are washed in honey gold backlight, with hair gloss and white shirt fabric left as the only bright edges, and a late corridor cut drops into cold blue grey. Line weight shifts between the stubbled, cigarette holding man and the finely drawn girl.
